Merciless hunters who stalk the weak, these Aspiring Deathbringers stride through the battlefield exuding pure menace with every step. Any foes who display even the slightest fear or hesitation are immediately smashed apart with rage and fury, left to fall and rot where they land.

Cairn Wraiths are amongst the most powerful of the Undead. Though they lack physical form, their touch drains the life of a mortal. Their very presence fills the air with dread, and most who face them are driven mad with fear long before they are killed.

Of all the mortal warriors across the civilisations of the world, Chaos Lords are the most feared, for they are truly like gods amongst men. Clad in baroque armour and rich furs, they tower above even other Champions of Chaos.

To hold the title of Clawlord is to rule supreme. In battle these brutal, backstabbing commanders will do anything for victory, leading from the back, a nice safe place where he can watch the flow of battle and decide where his sword arm is needed most.

A Spirit Torment draws its victim’s soul into its shacklegheist chains, heavy bonds forged of malefic iron and tempered by fell ritual. The accompanying Chainghasts are such eternally-imprisoned victims, bound to automatically obey every command of their Spirit Torment master, doomed to an inexplicable but impossible yearning for freedom.

Amidst the all-encompassing horrors of the dominion of Chaos, only the strong and the ruthless survive. The Darkoath Chieftain is a notable survivor; his every deed is meant to win the favour of the Dark Gods. He has slain countless mighty rivals, bested many great beasts, and sworn innumerable oaths to those gods in order to receive their gifts.

Thousands of mortal tribes have bound their fates to the will of Chaos, and at the fore are the Darkoath Warqueens. These are souls who have committed all manner of atrocity to attract the favour of the Dark Gods. With a fierce animal charisma and the fires of ambition fueling their every move, they are deadly warriors all, but their true power is the favour of the Dark Gods, and their supernatural ability to unite the hordes of Chaos as one.

Bellowing forth a mighty, blood-curdling roar, the Exalted Deathbringer pierces his enemy with his enormous spear, lifting him high with a single, muscular heave. The weight of the unfortunate victim drives them further down onto the polearm, each agonised, twisting convulsion pushing the blade ever deeper. Soon (but not soon enough), they will perish, adding yet another grisly trophy to the Exalted Deathbringer’s ever-expanding collection.

One of the most favoured of Khorne, the Exalted Deathbringers kill in order to ascend further in the glorious name of the Blood God. Every attack wrought with their hideous weaponry, every kill made, every panicking enemy slain without mercy or hesitation brings them closer to the pinnacle of bloodlust.

The mushroom-gobbling grot maniacs known as Cave-Shamans are not right in the head. To these greenskinned nutters, to get lost in a brain-mangling vision is to grow closer to the side of Gorkamorka that epitomises cunning and trickiness over brute strength, which is the side that all grots like the best.

Standing high in the favour of Tzeentch, Gaunt Summoners are sorcerers capable of shifting the tide of battle single-handedly. Luckily for Sigmar and his allies, there exist only nine of these immensely powerful beings. Each has been gifted with a changestaff and a key to one of the nine Silver Towers – lairs of hidden knowledge filled with secrets and traps.

Originating from deep within the Realm of Chaos, the Gaunt Summoners are powerful daemon sorcerers of Tzeentch. Archaon exerts an iron grip upon their souls - they are not only favoured by the Everchosen for their abilities, which are prodigious, but for their helpless devotion to their masters’ twisted whims. Able to twist reality with their dread incantations and engulf whole armies in deadly warpfire, the Gaunt Summoners were responsible for some of the most horrifying atrocities committed during the Age of Chaos.

Most Moonclan leaders have at least one Gobbapalooza rambling around their lurklair causing mischief. Gatherings of so-called wise-grots, petty shamans and gabbling loonpriests, each Gobbapalooza takes it upon themselves to counsel their skrap’s boss whether he wants their advice or not.

The Soulrenders are unusual amongst the Isharann, for they are trained alongside the Akhelians, and are well accustomed to acting at the forefront of battle. Upon each Soulrender’s helm dangles a lurelight, its strange glow attracting and absorbing souls. Armed with a hooked polearm known as a talúnhook, Soulrenders fight alongside the Namarti, replenishing their subordinates’ ranks even as they reap spirit-stuff.

It is the Tidecasters who conjure the phantasmal sea that allows aelf and aquatic beast to move and breathe as if they were in their own natural environment. They are able to conjure spells from the repressed anguish of the Idoneth, the curse that echoes still from their ancestors’ torture within Slaanesh.

At the very forefront of the Stormhost are the Knights-Heraldor, whose blasting clarion call announces the return of justice and order to the realms. His battle-horn sounds like a glorious thunderclap, the very sound of victory, spurring the Stormcast Eternals on to ever more astonishing feats of bravery in their war against Chaos.

Borne into war by shimmering bolts of divine lightning, the Stormcast Eternals are warriors of vengenace. Forged by the god-king Sigmar into living weapons against the power of Chaos, some of these soldiers of the heavens are notable even amongst their shining brethren for their heroic deeds – these champions become known as a Knight-Questor.

A Knight-Vexillor can call upon the power of his standard to send forth blasts of hurricane-like tempests, or call down the very stars themselves to smite foes with blazing heat.

In the living world executioners are tasked with the ending of life, often by axe stroke or noose. The headsmen of the Mortal Realms who knowingly slay the innocent as well as the guilty attract the gaze of Nagash, and upon death are remade into the spectral forms of Lord Executioners.

A Lord of Blights is a brutish figure who creates and destroys in equal measure. Swollen with muscle, he lumbers into the midst of the foe swinging his bubotic hammer in thunderous arcs. Every impact shatters bone and ruptures organs, leaving his victims lying like bruised and rotten fruit on the ground.

Hidden behind the dread mask of one of Nurgle’s executioners, the Lord of Plagues gazes impassively at the victims of the vile blessings that swathe him. Able to poison a man from a dozen paces away, he visits grim fates on those foolish enough to get close with his Plague-ridden Great Blade. His frame is a repulsive collection of rancid boils, open sores and cankerous bulges - truly, blessed by Nurgle.

Watching over their Stormcast brothers with the guiding light of their warding lanterns spilling a glorious, warm glow over everything nearby, the Lord-Castellants are masters of defensive warfare. The purifying aura of their golden light shields and heals wounded Stormcast Eternals with celestial energy, while their loyal gryph-hound shreds the flesh of any evildoers unfortunate enough to get too close.

The leaders of the Stormhosts, exceptionally gifted warriors who ride into battle in blazing fields of azure light, the Lord-Celestants are respected for their tenacity and battle skills even amongst the immortals. Their sigmarite runeblades and warhammers crush and pulverize any enemy unfortunate enough to get near - and those who might try to escape will find themselves struck down by a hurtling cloud of hammers loosed by a swirl of the Lord-Celestant’s cloak.

Witchfinder of the Stormcast Eternals, the Lord-Veritant is the eye of Sigmar, the inescapable wrath of the heavens. The blazing light of his Lantern of Abjuration is the terror of evil magic-users across the mortal realms, as he hunts out and systematically destroys them and their vile, corrupting influence.
